Peter BuntingPeter Bunting is a British painter with a background in philosophy as well as fine art. His early work was landscape-based, dealing with themes of growth and natural forces, and his painting continues to be an 'ordering process' and an exploration of the relationship between surfaces and space. This consistent and recurring involvement in landscape as a subject has resurfaced again as a result of recent stylistic developments in his work: the process of making transcriptions of paintings by Corot and Watteau has led Bunting to look again at 'trees and their world' using a deliberately contrived method of representing nature.
