Mitja HinderksMitja Hinderks was born and raised in Africa. He resided and worked in Europe and London before settling in Washington DC in 1978, moving to Los Angeles in 1987, where he now lives. In England, he studied mathematics, physics, chemistry, the environment and mechanical engineering with the Open University. Previously, he studied architecture at the University of Cape Town and later at the Regent Street Polytechnic in London. He has worked as an engineering, industrial and architectural designer/manager including design development of Frank Gehry's Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA.
In the 1970's, he worked briefly as a professional photographer in London with some of his pictures of the 1970's London scene published in recent books, including Jill Drower's 99 Balls Pond Road/The Exploding Galaxy and a forthcoming publication by Taschen.
Hinderk's exhibited with England & Co in the 2014 exhibition Exploding Galaxy/99 Balls Pond Road where his featured images, both colour and black & white illuminated the activities of the Galaxy members and their events and performances.
