Ben Wilson

Ben Wilson was born in 1963 in Cambridge. When he started a foundation course, he realised that he disliked formal art training and spent most of his college time making works out of found wood, as he had done as a child. Wilson continues to make sculptures from fallen trees and branches and tend them in the woods. His works are in schools and gardens in Britain and Australia and he has made a commission for the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. He was included in England & Co's 2001 exhibition Obsessive Visions: Art Outside the Mainstream and in 2008 was selected for the major exhibition of British Outsider Art at Musée La Halle Saint Pierre in Paris.
